Dwelt start - towards rear throughout (jockey said - regarding the running and riding - his instructions were to jump out and sit midfield and obtain plenty of cover - however - in his opinion he was unable to carry out these instructions fully as having been one of the first horses to enter the stalls the gelding had became a little restless and did not jump as sharply as would be required in order to obtain his ideal position. the rider added that the horse raced on and off the bridle throughout the race and that turning into the straight he felt that he needed to allow the gelding to get into his stride while asking him forward before asking for maximum effort - he further stated that he opted to take the horse off the stand side rail in the final half a furlong to ensure that the gelding remained interested and moving forwards to obtain his best possible position - as he felt had he continued into the gap available to him up the stand side rail that the horse would have lost concentration and consequently not finished the race off to the best of his ability. the trainer confirmed the instructions and stated that the rider knows the horse well having ridden him in all three of his previous starts - a fact the rider agreed with. their explanations were noted)(tchd 28/1)
